GATES Network Administrator

C5T is seeking a motivated and technically skilled GATES Network Administrator to support mission-critical operations in a dynamic Department of Defense environment. The selected candidate will play a key role in maintaining secure, reliable, and efficient network communications supporting GATES users worldwide.

This position is based near Scott Air Force Base, IL, area supporting USTRANSCOM Headquarters operations. Work will primarily take place in Government workspaces, with additional time in company offices and occasional telework opportunities as mission requirements allow.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide 24/7/365 support to GATES users and operational environments
  • Monitor and maintain network performance to ensure system reliability and availability
  • Configure and manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls
  • Troubleshoot and resolve end-user technical issues in a timely manner
  • Maintain accurate ticketing and technical documentation records
  • Generate ad-hoc reports and operational status updates as required
  • Apply GATES patches, upgrades, and system updates in accordance with operational requirements
  • Troubleshoot firewall issues with internal and external stakeholders
  • Configure and maintain hardware VPNs, including patching and vulnerability mitigation activities
  • Update internal tracking systems to ensure compliance with upgrade and maintenance schedules
  • Support cybersecurity and Information Assurance (IA) requirements in accordance with Government policies and procedures
  • Communicate effectively with technical teams, leadership, and end users to ensure timely issue resolution and operational continuity

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and minimum 3 years of relevant experience in network administration or related field
  • Active Secret Security Clearance with the ability to maintain clearance eligibility
  • Current Security+ CE certification or ability to obtain prior to start date
  • Experience supporting LAN/WAN network administration and infrastructure environments
  • Experience with firewalls, VPN implementation, troubleshooting, and issue resolution
  • Working knowledge of Palo Alto VPNs and PANOS software
  • Strong understanding of server infrastructure management, monitoring, and best practices
  • Excellent organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a mission-focused environment
  • Commitment to safeguarding company and customer information in accordance with confidentiality agreements and IA policies

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting DoD or Government operational environments
  • Familiarity with vulnerability mitigation and cybersecurity compliance activities
  • Experience supporting enterprise-level network operations and remote connectivity solutions
  • Familiarity with operational support in classified or mission-critical environments
