Gaylord Intermediate School Assistant Principal

Gaylord Community Schools is seeking an exceptional school administrator with the capability to lead educators in our mission to provide a quality education that inspires students to achieve their potential and become productive citizens.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Master's Degree in Educational Leadership, Administration, or related field.

  2. Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate.

  3. Michigan School Administrator Certificate or eligibility.

  4. Minimum of five (5) years successful teaching experience.

  5. Minimum of three (3) years successful building leadership experience preferred.

  6. Demonstrated experience leading school improvement efforts and instructional initiatives.

  7. Knowledge of MTSS, PBIS, and data-driven instructional practices.

DESIRED QUALITIES

  • The desire to achieve outstanding results in a short period of time.
  • The skill to foster collective responsibility by mobilizing structure, strategies, practices, and the use of resources for the ongoing evaluation and improvement of instruction.
  • The motivation and drive necessary to ensure that instructional specific conversations are taking place throughout the school through practices intentionally designed to focus conversations and efforts on improving the instruction of every teacher.
  • The drive to prioritize student-learning needs over the customs, routines, and established relationships that can stand in the way of necessary change.
  • The ability to motivate others and influence their behaviors.
  • The ability to exert his/her influence for results.
  • The talent to foster collective responsibility and ownership for greater student achievement.
  • The talent to build a professional environment that is one of mutual respect, teamwork, and accountability.
