The strongest candidate will be a GCP Cloud Engineer, GCP Infrastructure Engineer, Cloud DevOps Engineer, or Senior Terraform Engineer who has built enterprise GCP foundations not simply deployed applications into an environment created by someone else.

The key screening areas should be:

  1. Depth of hands-on GCP infrastructure experience
  2. Advanced Terraform experience
  3. GCP networking, especially VPC and Shared VPC
  4. CI/CD automation for infrastructure deployments
  5. Enterprise cloud security and IAM integration
  6. Production support and on-call experience

This is a senior, hands-on GCP infrastructure engineering role focused on cloud migrations, infrastructure automation, networking, security, observability, and production support.

What this person will do

The engineer will serve as the primary cloud infrastructure resource for GCP migration and modernization projects. They will:

  • Build and manage GCP environments using Terraform
  • Integrate infrastructure deployments into CI/CD pipelines
  • Configure VPCs, Shared VPCs, compute, storage, and enterprise networking
  • Create reusable and secure cloud infrastructure templates
  • Implement GCP monitoring, logging, alerting, and reporting
  • Manage cloud IAM access in coordination with the IAM team
  • Develop cloud standards, SOPs, and governance documentation
  • Support Windows, Linux, containers, disaster recovery, and high-availability environments
  • Troubleshoot production cloud incidents as the Tier-2 escalation engineer
  • Participate in a rotating 24/7/365 after-hours on-call schedule

Must-have skills

  • 5+ years of infrastructure engineering experience
  • Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform
  • 5+ years of Terraform or similar Infrastructure as Code
  • GCP compute, networking, storage, administration, security, and automation
  • Large-scale enterprise infrastructure deployments
  • Automated CI/CD pipeline development and maintenance
  • Strong scripting experience with:
    • Bash
    • Python
    • YAML
    • PowerShell
  • Windows and Linux cloud infrastructure
  • High availability, business continuity, and disaster recovery
  • Cloud security, IAM, containers, storage, and networking
  • Production troubleshooting and incident response
  • Willingness to participate in the on-call rotation
  • Ability to pass State, Federal, criminal, and CJIS background checks

Preferred skills

  • Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect certification
  • Google Cloud Associate Cloud Engineer certification
  • Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or a similar CI/CD platform
