This job family evaluates the costs and benefits of cloud, virtual private networks, dedicated housing, and in-house solutions and identifies portions of the organization s IT infrastructure with the highest potential return for cloud deployment. Cloud Engineering also manages the implementation of cloud services and their integration with in-house applications and systems, coordinating with vendors and adhering to engineering best practices.The Cloud Engineer role requires an understanding of Cloud Technologies (specifically GCP, AWS, Azure) and Services, Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban), and IT Operations based on ITIL Framework. The role s primary focus is to provide build and operations expertise with a high focus on automation in areas such as performance, monitoring, logging, security, backups/HA/DR, compliance, and ensuring the operations processes and standards are maintained in production. |
