Job Description:
We are looking for a software engineer with experience in TypeScript, Node.js, and Generative AI to build AI-powered developer productivity tools and IDE extensions. The role involves developing VS Code extensions that integrate with Large Language Models (LLMs) to assist developers with code generation, code analysis, documentation, refactoring, and AI-assisted software development workflows.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop VS Code extensions using TypeScript and Node.js.
- Integrate AI/LLM platforms such as OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Claude, or Gemini.
- Build AI-assisted features for code generation, code explanation, refactoring, and documentation.
- Develop integrations with enterprise development tools and APIs.
- Create intuitive developer experiences through editor extensions, side panels, commands, and workflows.
- Work with engineering teams to identify opportunities for AI-driven productivity improvements.
- Ensure scalability, security, and performance of AI-powered development tools.
Required Skills:
- Strong experience in TypeScript and Node.js.
- Experience building VS Code Extensions or IDE plugins.
- Experience with Generative AI / LLM integrations.
- Familiarity with OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, or similar AI platforms.
- Knowledge of REST APIs and modern software development practices.
- Experience with Git and CI/CD processes.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with AI Agents, RAG, Embeddings, or MCP.
- Experience with React for extension UI development.
- Familiarity with Language Server Protocol (LSP).
- Experience building developer productivity or engineering platform tools.
