Location: Johns Creek, GA (Local Candidates Only)
Pay Rate: $95,000 to $100,000 + Annual Bonus

Role Summary

The General Accounting Senior Accountant will play a key role in supporting corporate accounting, financial reporting, reconciliations, analysis, and acquisition integration activities. This position partners closely with accounting leadership and operational teams to ensure financial accuracy, compliance, and process efficiency across multiple business units.

This role offers strong exposure to complex accounting transactions, large scale data analysis, and business operations within a growing organization. The ideal candidate is analytical, adaptable, and eager to contribute beyond traditional accounting responsibilities while supporting ongoing business growth initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual general ledger activity across multiple business units and operational locations

• Perform balance sheet and income statement account reconciliations while maintaining detailed audit support and documentation

• Partner with operational and finance leaders to investigate, analyze, and explain financial statement variances

• Prepare and post monthly journal entries and support period end close activities

• Assist with annual audit preparation, audit schedules, and external reporting requirements

• Support acquisition integration activities including reconciliations, accounting analyses, technical accounting documentation, and journal entries

• Develop and generate financial reports utilizing reporting tools, business intelligence platforms, and advanced Excel functionality

• Review staff accountant work product and provide mentorship and guidance when needed

• Identify process improvement opportunities that enhance efficiency, reporting accuracy, and scalability

• Support special projects, ad hoc financial analyses, and strategic accounting initiatives

Key Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

• 2+ years of progressive accounting experience within a large corporate environment, public accounting firm, or a combination of both

• CPA certification or active CPA track strongly preferred

• Big 4 or large public accounting firm experience with multiple busy seasons highly preferred

• Experience supporting a large public company environment preferred

• Strong understanding of US GAAP and corporate accounting principles

• Manufacturing industry experience strongly preferred

• Experience working with large ERP systems; JD Edwards experience is a plus

• Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, XLOOKUP, INDEX MATCH, financial analysis, and manipulation of large datasets

• Experience with Power BI, financial reporting tools, or business intelligence platforms preferred

• Demonstrated ability to research accounting issues, solve problems independently, and collaborate across departments

• Strong communication skills, attention to detail, adaptability, and ability to manage competing priorities
