    Role Description The General Assembler is a full-time, on-site role located at Whiting Door’s facility in Akron, NY. This role is responsible for assembling truck and trailer roll-up doors, laminated swing doors, and related components according to specifications and work instructions. Day-to-day tasks include reading and interpreting blueprints or assembly drawings, using hand and power tools, measuring and cutting materials, and performing quality checks to ensure products meet company standards. The General Assembler will follow safety guidelines, maintain a clean and organized work area, and collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production schedules. This role may also assist with packaging, material handling, and basic equipment maintenance as needed.\n

    • Ability to read and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, and written work instructions, with strong attention to detail and quality.

    • Proficiency using common hand tools and power tools safely (e.g., drills, screwdrivers, measuring devices, cutting tools).
    • \n
    • Solid mechanical aptitude, including basic understanding of assembly processes, fasteners, and material handling.
    • \n
    • Physical capability to stand for extended periods, lift and move materials and components, and perform repetitive tasks safely.
    • \n
    • Strong teamwork and communication skills, with a focus on reliability, punctuality, and willingness to learn new tasks.
    • \n
    • Basic math and measurement skills to accurately measure, cut, and align parts during assembly.
    • \n
    • Prior manufacturing or assembly experience in an industrial or production environment preferred but not required.
    • \n
    • High school diploma or equivalent preferred; technical or vocational training in manufacturing or related fields is a plus.
