General Cardiologist Non-Invasive Cardiology

Job Summary

We are seeking a General/Non-Invasive Cardiologist to join an established cardiovascular practice in Somerset, Pennsylvania. The physician will join a collaborative team of non-invasive and interventional cardiologists, physician assistants, and additional cardiovascular specialists.

This position offers a balanced combination of inpatient and outpatient cardiology, with non-invasive cardiologists rotating between services. The practice has a longstanding presence in the community and provides access to comprehensive diagnostic and specialty services.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive general and non-invasive cardiology care in inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Rotate between inpatient and outpatient cardiology services.
• Conduct hospital rounds and provide cardiovascular consultations.
• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with acute and chronic cardiovascular conditions.
• Perform and interpret non-invasive cardiac testing, including:
  • Echocardiograms
  • Stress testing
  • Electrocardiograms (EKGs)
  • Transesophageal echocardiography (TEE)
• Develop individualized treatment and follow-up plans for cardiovascular patients.
• Participate in shared medical cardiology call coverage.
• Collaborate with interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, physician assistants, and other medical and surgical specialists.
• Coordinate patient care across inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
• Participate in quality improvement and clinical initiatives as appropriate.
• Provide evidence-based, patient-centered cardiovascular care.

Qualifications / Requirements

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
• Completion of an accredited Internal Medicine residency.
• Completion of an accredited Cardiovascular Disease fellowship.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiovascular Disease/Cardiology.
• Training and experience in general and non-invasive cardiology.
• Experience with echocardiography, stress testing, EKG interpretation, and TEE preferred.
• Current Pennsylvania medical license or eligibility to obtain licensure before starting.
• Eligible for hospital medical staff privileges and credentialing.
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary cardiovascular team.
