General/Catering Assistant

The Class 1 Personnel team is expanding! Our brand-new Reading branch is seeking General and Catering Assistants looking for freelance work to join our network. Opportunities span across a wide range of industries, kitchens and events in the Greater Reading area.

What We're Looking For

We welcome assistants who are:

• Able to work within a team and independently
• Able to work confidently in fast-paced or unfamiliar kitchens
• Reliable, punctual, and professionally presented
• Strong communicators who work well under pressure
• Knowledgeable about food safety and hygiene procedures
• Flexible with shifts (daytime, evenings, weekends)
• We also require food hygiene certification. Some placements may require further certifications including DBS

Roles, Skills & Responsibilities

Depending on your level and placement, you may include but not be limited to:

• Assist Kitchen with food preparation.
• Service to the highest standard.
• Maintain a clean, safe working environment both front and back of house
• Working Front of House as needed, interacting with customers
• Step into short-notice temporary shifts with confidence
• Serving and clearing tables

Competitive hourly rates based on experience ranging between £12.71-£15 per hour
