Overview:

As a General Clerk at Arthur J. Gallagher, you will play a vital role in supporting the day-to-day administrative operations of the organization. Under limited supervision, you will provide support for one or more functional groups, performing a wide variety of specialized clerical functions. These include compiling and arranging data, preparing reports, processing and coding documents, and maintaining specialized and comprehensive records and filing systems. Additionally, you will set up and prepare statistical reports to support the organization’s operational and strategic goals. This position requires a detail-oriented and organized individual who can efficiently handle clerical tasks, maintain records, and provide exceptional support to internal teams. The General Clerk contributes to the smooth functioning of Gallagher’s business processes, ensuring that our clients and employees receive the highest level of service.

How you'll make an impact:
  • Administrative Support: Perform general office duties such as filing, scanning, photocopying, and data entry to maintain accurate and organized records.
  • Specialized Clerical Functions: Compile and arrange data, prepare reports, process and code documents, and maintain specialized and comprehensive records and filing systems.
  • Statistical Reporting: Set up and prepare statistical reports to support functional groups and organizational decision-making.
  • Document Management: Prepare, review, and distribute correspondence, reports, and other documents as required.
  • Customer Service: Respond to inquiries from internal teams and external clients, providing timely and professional assistance.
  • Scheduling and Coordination: Assist in scheduling meetings, appointments, and travel arrangements for team members.
  • Database Maintenance: Update and maintain client and employee information in Gallagher’s systems to ensure data accuracy.
  • Compliance Support: Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures, including confidentiality and compliance with regulatory requirements.
About you:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in office administration are a plus.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a clerical or administrative role is preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Strong organizational and time management skills.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
    • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
    • Attention to detail and accuracy in all work.
