This role would be responsible for investigating and analysing complex issues, managing a portfolio of cases, instructing external lawyers, liaising with relevant insurers, managing the firm's insurances, delivering proactive risk management initiatives, overseeing and delivering strategic and operational objectives and advising senior management on liability and risk issues.Reporting to both the General Counsel, Professional Claims & Insurances based in London and the Australian General Counsel based in Melbourne, the key responsibilities and requirements for this role are as follows:ResponsibilitiesManaging the defence of professional liability claims made against the firmManaging the firm's insurances (including renewal of relevant policies)Instructing external lawyers and Counsel in AustraliaWorking on all aspects of the dispute resolution processWorking on investigations and regulatory mattersPresenting to the firm on risk and liability issuesRequirementsPrevious experience as a Senior Lawyer gained within an Insurance or Litigation practiceExperience with mediations and negotiating settlementsExcellent analytical, drafting and communications skillsStrong time management & organisational skills with the capacity to manage multiple projects and conflicting priorities simultaneouslyThe ability to understand complex commercial transactions, summarise them and inform third parties (including non-lawyers) of the issues in a succinct wayAt Norton Rose Fulbright, you will be rewarded with genuine career prospects and an excellent team environment renowned for its collaborative culture, passion for client service and professional development opportunities.EEO / Inclusion StatementNorton Rose Fulbright values diversity and strives to create an inclusive environment.
