General Education Paraprofessional

Altoona Elementary School is seeking a full-time General Education Paraprofessional for the 2026-2027 school year. This position works Monday - Friday; 7:00 am - 3:00 pm and follows the School District of Altoona yearly support staff calendar. The start date for this position is August 25, 2026.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teaches Social Emotional Learning (SEL)-based recess activities as part of the Specials rotation.

• Uses knowledge of student needs to make necessary accommodations to daily activities.

• Provides small group and tutorial instruction and supervision as directed.

• Leads supervision during recess blocks across all elementary grade levels.

• Provides preventative and follow-up behavior management to students exhibiting disruptive behaviors and documents these situations.

• Learns and implements a variety of behavior plans for students.

• Communicates effectively with staff regarding student needs and concerns.
