Position OverviewThe Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for a General Engineer – GS‑0801‑12 to work at NORAD & USNORTHCOM, Peterson Space Force Base, Colorado Springs, CO.This is a term position not to exceed 3 years; the individual selected may be extended without further competition. Current federal civilian employees may apply, and if selected, a break in service of at least 3 calendar days may be required prior to appointment.As a General Engineer, you will work on real property facilities and infrastructure, including utility systems, supporting NORAD and USNORTHCOM, Peterson SFB, Cheyenne Mountain Space Force Station, and surrounding facilities as required. Your responsibilities include design, project programming, construction management/monitoring, and improvement projects for mission‑critical operations.Salary range: $91,870 – $119,434. Travel up to 25%. Recruitment, relocation, and retention incentives may be offered.Key Responsibilities• Design, program, and manage construction and renovation projects for civil, mechanical, and electrical engineering applications.• Conduct site and facility surveys, inspections, and analyze results to recommend solutions.• Coordinate with engineering disciplines, architects, and stakeholders to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and standards.• Manage acquisition and sustainment activities, meet DAWIA certification requirements, and complete continuous learning points.RequirementsU.S. Citizenship is required.Required to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.Professional engineering degree at the bachelor's level from an ABET accredited institution. Transcripts must be included.
