Duration: 1 year contract with the possibility of another year extension
Shift Schedule: Standard business hours
Credentialing / Onboarding time: 6 weeks to 8 weeks
License: PE (Professional Engineer) license required
Education: Engineering degree (implied by PE licensure requirement)
Experience needed: 5 years' experience within discipline in a hospital setting
Special Skills needed:- VA design guide, NFPA 101/99, and Joint Commission code compliance review
- VSSC/SCIP capital planning systems; forensic/root-cause analysis of facility system failures
Responsibilities:- Provide engineering support for construction/renovation/infrastructure projects
- Review A/E design and construction documents for code compliance/constructability
- Develop project documentation (scopes, cost estimates, schedules, risk registers)
- Coordinate with clinical services/Facilities/Safety/Infection Control
- Produce technical reviews, risk summaries, and engineering reports
Misc: Project oversight from inception to completion per VA TIL requirements
