Position Summary

The General Helper / Utility employee supports plant operations by performing a variety of entry-level tasks across production, material handling, and housekeeping. This role is essential to maintaining workflow efficiency, equipment readiness, and a safe, organized work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist operators and production staff with setup, operation, and cleanup of machinery
  • Load, unload, and move raw materials and finished products within the facility
  • Perform general labor tasks such as stacking, sorting, labeling, and packaging materials
  • Maintain cleanliness of machines, work areas, and production floor (sweeping, removing waste, etc.)
  • Support preventative maintenance activities and basic equipment care
  • Follow instructions from supervisors to support different departments as needed
  • Monitor materials and alert operators/supervisors of shortages or issues
  • Adhere to all safety policies and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Help reduce downtime by keeping work areas organized and stocked
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support production goals

Requirements / Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment
  • Ability to follow directions and work effectively as part of a team
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn
  • Basic math and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
  • Willingness to work flexible shifts, including overtime and weekends
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work safely around industrial equipment
