Job Summary:
Mitchell Equipment Corporation is seeking a dependable and hardworking General Laborer to join our fabrication team. This position supports a variety of shop activities including machining, sawing, grinding, and handling steel parts. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on individual who is comfortable working in a dynamic shop environment and willing to take on a range of tasks as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate basic machinery such as drill presses, band saws, and grinders
- Cut and prepare raw steel materials to size
- Deburr, grind, and clean fabricated parts
- Assist fabricators and machinists with general shop tasks
- Load and unload materials using carts, dollies, or forklifts (if certified)
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
- Perform other general labor duties as assigned by supervisors
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a fabrication or machine shop preferred, but not required
- Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to safely operate shop tools
- Willingness to learn and take direction
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Work Environment:
- Indoor fabrication shop environment with steel, machinery, and power tools
- Safety gear (PPE) provided and required
