Job Summary: Material Handler / Heavy-Duty 5‑Ton Forklift Operator

The Material Handler / Heavy-Duty Forklift Operator plays a key role in supporting daily yard operations by safely handling, moving, and organizing large industrial pipe materials. This position requires strong attention to safety, the ability to operate heavy equipment, and a commitment to maintaining an efficient and orderly work environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely unload and load various sizes of pipe from trucks and trailers
• Transport and place pipe materials in designated storage areas throughout the yard
• Operate a heavy‑duty 5‑ton forklift with precision and care
• Assist with general yard organization to ensure smooth workflow and material accessibility
• Inspect equipment daily and report any maintenance needs
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, hazard‑free work area
• Work outdoors in non‑air‑conditioned environments, including heat, cold, and varying weather conditions

Requirements

• Experience operating heavy‑duty forklifts (5‑ton capacity or similar)
• Ability to work in a physically demanding, outdoor industrial environment
• Must provide steel‑toe shoes
• Strong awareness of safety practices and equipment handling
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team
