A general laborer in day labor staffing performs a variety of physical tasks to support project operations. This role is entry-level and often requires no prior specialized training, but physical fitness and the ability to follow instructions are essential
Perform general physical labor such as digging, lifting, carrying, and moving materials
Load and unload trucks, trailers, and equipment as needed
Assist skilled tradespeople (e.g., carpenters, plumbers, electricians) with setup, cleanup, and material handling
Prepare and clean job sites, removing debris and hazards
Operate hand tools and power tools (drills, saws, grinders, jackhammers) safely
Help assemble or dismantle temporary structures like scaffolding, ramps, or storage
Follow safety protocols and report unsafe conditions to supervisors.
Perform site cleanup and maintain a safe, organized work environment
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Ability to lift heavy objects and perform strenuous physical tasks
Willingness to work in all weather conditions
Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team
Valid driver’s license (for day laborers who may need to transport materials)
Basic knowledge of safety practices and OSHA standards
Often outdoors, in varying weather conditions
May involve noise, dust, and physical exertion
Flexible scheduling, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, or holidays
