General Labor (ID #525427)

Shipping, loading, and unloading personnel physically and systematically process freight. They load outgoing items, unload incoming shipments, check goods against manifests, and maintain organized warehouse docks. This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and often the operation of material handling equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Loading & Unloading: Manually or mechanically load packaged goods, pallets, and bulk materials onto and off trucks, shipping containers, or railcars.
• Freight Verification: Verify shipment contents, piece counts, and weights against delivery receipts, purchase orders, or driver manifests.
• Quality Control: Inspect cargo for visible damages, leaks, or temperature issues, and accurately document overages, shortages, and damages (OS&D).
• Inventory Management: Transport received goods to designated storage areas and assist with periodic physical inventory counts.
• Safety & Compliance: Secure and strap/wrap loads to ensure stability during transport, and strictly adhere to workplace safety protocols.
• Equipment Operation: Safely operate equipment such as manual/electric pallet jacks, hand trucks, and forklifts (if certified)
