Job Title: General Laborer
Pay: Starting at $19.00 per hour
Shift: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:45 PM
Location: Indianapolis, IN
Job Summary
The General Laborer supports daily production operations by assisting skilled operators, handling materials, maintaining a clean work environment, and performing basic manufacturing tasks. This is an entry-level position with opportunities to learn and grow within a metal manufacturing setting.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist machine operators and fabricators with production tasks
- Load, unload, and move raw materials and finished parts throughout the shop
- Perform basic assembly, sorting, and packaging of metal components
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Remove scrap material and dispose of waste properly
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies
- Accurately measure parts using a tape measure to ensure quality and specifications
- Perform other general labor duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Must be able to read a tape measure very well (required)
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Dependable and punctual
- Able to stand for long periods and perform physical work, including lifting
- Willingness to learn and work as part of a team
- Previous manufacturing or shop experience is a plus, but not required
Work Schedule
- Monday through Friday
- 7:00 AM – 3:45 PM
- Overtime may be available as needed
