Job Summary:
Protech Staffing is seeking an experienced
Production Painter to join a busy manufacturing team producing high-quality interior and exterior doors. This position is responsible for preparing, painting, staining, and finishing wood doors while ensuring a consistent, high-quality finish. The ideal candidate has previous experience using spray equipment, understands paint and coating applications, and takes pride in delivering quality craftsmanship in a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare wood doors for painting by sanding, cleaning, masking, and inspecting surfaces.
Apply paint, stain, primer, and protective coatings using spray guns and other finishing equipment.
Ensure proper paint coverage, color consistency, and finish quality.
Mix paints, stains, and coatings according to specifications.
Perform touch-up work and minor repairs as needed.
Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards before shipment.
Maintain paint booths, spray equipment, and finishing tools in proper working condition.
Follow production schedules while maintaining quality and efficiency.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Follow all safety procedures regarding paint, coatings, chemicals, and PPE.
Report equipment issues, quality concerns, or production delays to supervisors.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in industrial painting, cabinet finishing, wood finishing, automotive painting, or manufacturing paint operations is required.
Experience operating HVLP spray guns or other industrial spray equipment preferred.
Knowledge of paint preparation, mixing, stains, sealers, primers, and finish applications.
Ability to identify and correct paint defects such as runs, orange peel, dry spray, or uneven coverage.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality finished products.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds throughout the shift.
Comfortable standing, walking, bending, twisting, and performing repetitive tasks throughout the workday.
Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Willingness to work overtime as production demands require.
Work Environment:
Fast-paced manufacturing environment producing wood doors.
Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and repetitive movements throughout the shift.
Exposure to paints, stains, solvents, wood dust, and manufacturing equipment.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including respirators, safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection, must be worn as required.
Overtime and occasional Saturdays may be required based on production needs.
