Job Overview
We are seeking reliable and hardworking General Labor candidates to support daily operations at an industrial plant. This General Labor role involves general labor, cleanup, material handling, and equipment operation in a physically demanding environment. The General Labor position requires individuals who are safety-focused, dependable, and comfortable working in hot, dusty, and confined spaces when required.
Qualifications
Prior industrial or plant labor experience preferred
Strong safety awareness and ability to follow instructions
Dependable attendance and strong work ethic
Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or extended hours as needed
Essential Job Duties
The General Labor role includes the following duties:
Shovel ash and trash buildup from under and around conveyor systems and hoppers
Transport materials using wheelbarrows
Perform general debris removal throughout the plant
Clean and assist with maintenance inside boilers and hoppers (confined space work with full-face respirator)
Handle and stage plant materials and equipment, including pipes, air hoses, and tools
Perform basic painting tasks as needed
Operate equipment such as Bobcat, forklift, and man lift (training provided if needed)
Blow down and clean designated work areas
Follow all plant safety rules and procedures at all times
General Plant & Safety Requirements
Must attend and complete site safety orientation before starting work
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical labor
Ability to safely use tools such as shovels, rakes, hoes, wheelbarrows, grinders, and vacuum systems
Must provide and wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Ability to frequently lift up to 25 pounds
Lead workers must attend daily morning planning meetings
Must have personal, labeled lockout/tagout locks
Ability to access rooftops, confined spaces, and work in hot and dusty environments
Knowledge of or willingness to be trained on hazards related to conveyors, heavy equipment, and industrial environments
