Position Overview
We are seeking a dependable Crate Builder / General Laborer to join a growing field service and manufacturing team in Tulsa. This position is responsible for building custom and standard wooden crates used for shipping, storage, and transportation of products. The role includes traveling with a crew to customer sites, constructing crates, and ensuring finished products meet quality and safety standards.
The ideal candidate enjoys hands-on work, has experience using basic hand and power tools, and takes pride in producing quality craftsmanship.
Required Experience & Skills
Basic math and measurement skills
Experience using hand and power tools preferred
Ability to accurately use a tape measure
Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Dependable attendance and good time management
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Must provide steel-toed boots, a hammer, and a tape measure
Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Travel with field service crews to build custom shipping crates
Build, assemble, and repair wooden crates, pallets, and skids according to specifications
Measure, cut, and assemble wood materials using hand and power tools
Read and follow blueprints, work orders, and customer specifications
Secure products inside crates to prevent damage during transportation
Safely operate saws, nail guns, drills, hammers, staple guns, and other shop tools
Inspect completed crates for structural integrity and quality
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Follow OSHA regulations and all company safety policies
Work closely with warehouse, shipping, and production personnel to complete projects on schedule
Preferred Qualifications
Previous crate building, carpentry, warehouse, or construction experience
Ability to read blueprints or schematics
Knowledge of wood materials, fasteners, and construction techniques
Forklift experience is a plus
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift 50 lbs or more regularly
Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, lifting, and repetitive movements throughout the shift
Ability to safely operate hand and power tools while wearing required PPE
Comfortable working both in the shop and at customer locations as needed
Work Environment
Warehouse, manufacturing, and field service environments
Exposure to wood dust, power tools, construction materials, and industrial noise
Physically active role requiring teamwork and attention to safety
