We are seeking dependable General Laborers to support a temporary project at Wallops Island Flight Facility. Employees will assist supervisors and project personnel with daily labor needs while helping maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
This position requires extended hours and physical work in and around the beach area of the facility. Candidates must be comfortable working outdoors in varying weather and terrain conditions.
Job Responsibilities
Assist supervisors and project personnel with daily tasks.
Move, organize, load, and stage materials, tools, and equipment.
Keep work areas clean, safe, and free of debris.
Collect and properly dispose of trash and other materials.
Assist with basic wire-pulling activities as directed.
Set up and break down work areas.
Follow instructions and complete assigned tasks efficiently.
Follow all company, facility, safety, security, and PPE requirements.
Perform other general labor duties as assigned.
Requirements
Must be a United States citizen.
Must be able to meet all requirements for access to Wallops Island Flight Facility.
Must present a valid, government-issued photo ID, such as a REAL ID-compliant driver’s license or valid U.S. passport.
Must be dependable and available to work 6–7 days per week.
Must be able to work 10–12-hour shifts for the duration of the project.
Must be comfortable performing physical labor outdoors and around beach conditions.
Must be able to follow directions and work effectively as part of a team.
Previous general labor, construction, cleanup, or material-handling experience is preferred.
Personal Protective Equipment
Employees must comply with all project PPE requirements, including:
Closed-toe work shoes or boots
Long pants
Any additional PPE required by the facility or project supervisor
Travel and Lodging
Local candidates are preferred. For eligible employees traveling more than 50 miles one way:
Lodging may be provided at the applicable government lodging rate.
Per diem of $68 per day may be provided.
Travel benefits are subject to project approval and eligibility requirements.
Pay:
$20-$23/hour
Schedule:
Monday-Saturday 6:30am-4:30pm. Must be flexible to work Sundays and 12 hour shifts as the schedule will shift based on business demands.
