General Labor-Wash Rack

Wash Rack Laborer 

Pay: $15.00/hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:30 PM

We are seeking a dependable, hardworking Wash Rack Laborer to clean and maintain solid waste vehicles, and other assigned equipment.

This is a physically demanding labor position and is not simply a vehicle-detailing job. Some duties involve cleaning garbage trucks and other heavily soiled equipment. Applicants should be comfortable performing dirty, strenuous work and working independently.

Responsibilities:

• Wash and clean public works and solid waste vehicles
• Thoroughly clean garbage trucks and other heavily soiled vehicles and equipment
• Follow and help maintain an established vehicle-cleaning schedule
• Safely drive vehicles from their parked locations to the wash rack and return them when finished
• Operate pressure washers and other light equipment
• Perform manual labor associated with vehicle and equipment cleaning
• Work independently and complete assigned tasks without constant supervision
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to safely operate and move vehicles on the premises
• Ability and willingness to perform physically demanding manual labor
• Comfortable working around dirty vehicles, garbage trucks, and waste-related equipment
• Able to work independently
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Previous experience washing or cleaning large vehicles is preferred
