Pay:
$16.50/hour ($1 shift differential for 2nd shift)
A General Laborer provides critical support in various industries by performing a wide range of physical tasks. This role is essential for maintaining productivity and ensuring the smooth operation of day-to-day activities. General Laborers work under the supervision of experienced staff and are expected to follow safety standards while completing various assignments.
Key Responsibilities:
• Physical Labor: Perform physical tasks such as lifting, pushing, and pulling materials or equipment as needed.
• Site Preparation: Assist in preparing job sites by cleaning and organizing work areas, removing debris, and setting up equipment.
• Material Handling: Load and unload materials, ensuring they are stored properly and safely.
• Assisting Tradespeople: Support skilled tradespeople (e.g., carpenters, electricians) by handing them tools and materials and following their instructions.
• Maintenance Tasks: Conduct routine maintenance on equipment and tools, ensuring they are in good working order.
• Retail and Inventory Tasks: Help with stocking shelves, organizing products, and assisting with inventory counts in warehouse environments.
• Safety Compliance: Follow health and safety guidelines at all times, reporting any hazards or incidents to supervisors.
• Team Collaboration: Work effectively within a team, communicating clearly with coworkers and supervisors to complete projects efficiently.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not always necessary.
• Experience: Prior experience in a labor-intensive role is an advantage but not required.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods.
• Basic Tool Knowledge: Familiarity with hand and power tools; ability to follow safety protocols while operating them.
