General Laborer (Blast Booth) - $15.50-19/hour – Roanoke, VA
Shift: 1st Shift – 5:45am–4:15pm, Monday–Thursday 
*Overtime on Fridays and weekends as needed*

Lingo Staffing is hiring a General Laborer to support a leading manufacturing partner in the Roanoke area, with a primary focus in the blast booth department.

This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with manufacturing, machine operation, or industrial experience who are comfortable working in a hands-on, physically demanding environment and are looking for long-term growth in a production setting.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform media blasting using aluminum oxide in a blast booth environment
  • Complete daily maintenance logs and ensure accurate documentation of work performed
  • Maintain cleanliness of the blast booth, including filters, grates, and surrounding work areas
  • Prepare parts prior to blasting by taping, covering, and protecting openings
  • Remove excess sand and debris from parts before moving them out of the blast area
  • Support additional production areas as needed, including wash bay, carpentry/crating, and general manufacturing tasks
  • Maintain productivity and follow all safety procedures in a fast-paced industrial environment
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in manufacturing, production, machine operation, assembly, or similar heavy-duty environments
  • Comfortable working with hand tools, power tools, tape measures, and industrial equipment
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality control and accuracy
  • Ability to learn and perform multiple processes including blasting, prep work, washing, and basic fabrication support
  • Team-oriented mindset with strong communication skills and willingness to assist across departments
  • Reliable attendance and ability to meet daily production goals
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 lbs repeatedly throughout the shift
  • Ability to lift up to 80 lb sandbags as required
  • Physically able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, and climb throughout the shift
  • Ability to pass required physical assessments, including lift testing and respirator fit testing as applicable
