General Laborer

Position Summary

American Boring Inc. is seeking a dependable and hardworking General Laborer to support underground utility and horizontal directional drilling operations. This position involves physical, hands-on work assisting with excavation, material handling, job site preparation, and supporting field crews on underground utility construction projects.

The ideal candidate is safety-focused, reliable, and willing to work in a fast-paced outdoor construction environment.

Essential Duties

• Assist with trenching, conduit installation, pipe placement, and backfilling operations
• Load and unload tools, materials, and construction equipment
• Support drill operators, equipment operators, and utility crews on job sites
• Operate hand tools and small construction equipment safely and effectively
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations
• Perform general labor and construction tasks as assigned by foreman or management
• Assist with traffic control, site cleanup, and material handling as needed

Qualifications

• Previous construction or underground utility experience preferred but not required
• Ability to safely operate hand tools and small equipment
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Must be safety-conscious and able to follow directions
• Ability to pass a drug screening
• Clean driving record preferred

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work on uneven terrain
• Ability to perform physically demanding labor for extended periods
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
