Job Purpose:
The General Laborer / Electrical Helper supports facility, construction, and maintenance operations by performing general labor tasks while assisting electricians with basic electrical installations, repairs, and maintenance activities. This position is ideal for an individual with entry-level electrical knowledge who is eager to develop technical skills while contributing to a variety of labor and maintenance projects.
Job Summary:
This position reports to the Plant Manager or a Department Supervisor. The ideal candidate should possess basic knowledge of all positions in the shop. Be a functional team member.
Responsibilities:
Accident prevention - actively identify, correct and/or report safety hazards to prevent accidents. Actively identify and pursue cost reduction and efficiency/profit improvement opportunities. Support the ISO 9001 Quality Management System and the Sea Box Quality Policy calling for self-inspection of your work product. Perform general labor activities including material handling, equipment setup, cleanup, and site organization. Load, unload, and transport tools, equipment, and supplies. Assist with construction, maintenance, renovation, and repair projects. Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Operate basic hand tools and power tools safely and effectively. Follow company safety policies and OSHA regulations. Support various departments as needed to meet operational objectives. Pull wire, run conduit, install cable trays, and mount electrical components under supervision. Assist with troubleshooting basic electrical systems and equipment. Install and replace outlets, switches, fixtures, and lighting systems as directed. Perform basic electrical testing using approved tools and equipment. Maintain inventory of electrical materials and supplies. Ensure all electrical work complies with company standards and applicable codes. Lifting production objects of up to 50lbs. Performs other duties as assigned. Must be able to fulfill essential job functions in a consistent state of alertness and safe manner. Requirements
Skills/Qualifications:
Basic understanding of electrical systems, tools, and safety practices. Electrical trade school coursework or vocational training preferred. OSHA 10 certification preferred Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred
Experience:
1+ year of general labor, construction, maintenance, or industrial experience. Experience reading basic blueprints, drawings, or schematics. Electrical helper, apprentice, maintenance, or construction experience. Salary Range: $19 - $24.50/hour
