General Laborer/Facilities Support

Job Summary

Clark Testing is seeking an energetic individual who enjoys variety in their workday for our Jefferson Hills, PA location. This position is a physically active job which includes courier duties and floats between our maintenance & facilities team and analytical chemistry lab.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Providing courier services.
  • Using company pickup truck to collect samples from local steel mills and transporting them to the lab for preparation and testing analysis.
• Sample preparation.
  • Includes using various hand tools (grinder) and other equipment such as industrial-size band saw.
• Basic electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and hardware repairs on equipment.
• Operating forklift for on-site loading, unloading, and moving equipment and other materials.
• Following policies and procedures for maintaining a compliant chemical waste program.
• Basic laboratory upkeep and analyst and technician support.
• Perform other duties and tasks as needed and required by management.
  • Floating between several areas and acting as a versatile back up for multiple departments.

We recognize these are niche responsibilities, so an inquisitive mind, a great attitude, and a willingness to learn from others and work onone’s own can be equally important as is previous experience. This role is also customer-facing; therefore, a customer-centric and professional communication style is essential.

Qualifications & Requirements

• GED or High School Diploma is required.
• An Associates or Technical degree in a related field is a plus.
• Safety-first mentality, including always wearing proper PPE and communicating any potential hazards on the job.
• Forklift experience is preferred but not required as in-house training can be provided.
• Must be able to read, interpret, and provide feedback on internal SOPs.
• Ability to perform basic results interpretation and update procedures for precise outcomes.
• Commitment to Clark’s QA/QC program, including uncompromised integrity in providing results and data.
• Ability to collaborate with teammates but also perform tasks on one’s own.
• Willing to accept constructive feedback from company leaders, teammates, and customers (internal and external) to accomplish necessary outcomes and develop in role.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including basic use of email, information sharing software, etc.
• Experience working with mechanical, electrical, and/or computer systems.
• Able to stand for extended periods of time.
• Able to lift, carry, move, and transport objects of up to 50 lbs.
• Available to work daylight shift and willing to work overtime when necessary.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.
• Must have reliable transportation and be able to manage the daily commute to and from the facility.
• Must be able to pass drug screening and background checks.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.

This is an hourly, non-exempt position.
