Job Title: General Laborer / Machine Operator

Job Description

This role works in a custom manufacturing shop producing expansion joints and related components. You will follow established procedures to manufacture products, operate production machinery, and strictly adhere to all safety protocols. You will read and interpret schematics and work instructions, perform hands-on assembly using hand tools, and accurately document all work performed throughout the production process.


Responsibilities


+ Operate a variety of manufacturing machines and equipment to produce expansion joints and related parts according to specifications.

+ Follow detailed procedures, schematics, and written instructions to ensure products meet quality and performance requirements.

+ Set up machines for production runs, including adjusting settings, preparing materials, and verifying correct tooling.

+ Perform general labor tasks such as material handling, basic assembly, and workstation organization in a custom manufacturing shop.

+ Use hand tools and basic equipment safely and effectively during assembly and production activities.

+ Document all work performed, including production steps, measurements, and any issues encountered, in accordance with company standards.

+ Monitor machines during operation to identify irregularities, perform basic troubleshooting, and escalate issues when necessary.

+ Maintain a clean and orderly work area, following all safety and housekeeping guidelines.

+ Adhere to all safety protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment and safe operation of machinery.

+ Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and support continuous improvement efforts.


Essential Skills


+ Experience working in an industrial or manufacturing environment.

+ Proven ability to operate production machinery and equipment safely and efficiently.

+ Machine set-up experience, including preparing equipment and materials for production runs.

+ Ability to read and interpret schematics, drawings, and written instructions.

+ Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate production and documentation.

+ Capability to stand for long periods of time during a full shift.

+ Experience with general labor tasks in a manufacturing setting.

+ Comfort using hand tools and basic assembly equipment.

+ Ability to follow safety procedures and work instructions consistently.

+ Basic documentation skills to record work performed and production details.


Additional Skills & Qualifications


+ Experience in custom manufacturing environments is beneficial.

+ Background in machine operation or pressline operation is an advantage.

+ Comfort working with multiple types of machinery and production processes.

+ Strong reliability and willingness to work a 2nd shift schedule.

+ Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.

+ Willingness to learn new processes and cross-train on different machines.

Work Environment


This position is based in a custom manufacturing shop environment that is not climate-controlled, so you must be comfortable working in a warm setting, especially around active machinery. The role is on 2nd shift within the ERP department as a pressline operator, supporting ongoing production needs. You will work around industrial equipment and production lines, following established safety practices and using appropriate protective gear as required. The environment is hands-on, production-focused, and team-oriented, with an emphasis on consistent output and safe machine operation.

This is a Contract position based out of Lodi, CA.


Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
