Starflex Fabrication is seeking a dependable, hardworking General Laborer to support our sheet metal fabrication and manufacturing operations. This is a hands-on position working in a fast-paced production environment.
The ideal candidate is reliable, safety-conscious, willing to learn, and comfortable performing a variety of manufacturing and material-handling tasks. Previous manufacturing or metal fabrication experience is preferred but not required. We are willing to train the right candidate who has a strong work ethic and positive attitude.
Responsibilities
- Assist with general sheet metal fabrication and production activities
- Load, unload, move, and stage raw materials, work-in-process, and finished parts
- Assist with laser-cut part removal, sorting, and organization
- Deburr, grind, sand, and clean fabricated metal parts
- Assist with material handling and preparation for downstream operations
- Separate and identify parts according to routers and production paperwork
- Assist Press Brake, Welding, Powder Coating, Assembly, and other departments as needed
- Operate basic hand tools, power tools, grinders, sanders, and other shop equipment after training
- Maintain organized work areas and properly store tools and materials
- Perform general shop cleanup and housekeeping duties
- Follow established safety procedures and wear required PPE
- Inspect parts for obvious damage or defects and report concerns to supervision
- Follow instructions from supervisors and production leads
- Perform other production-related duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Previous manufacturing, fabrication, warehouse, or industrial experience preferred
- Sheet metal fabrication experience is a plus
- Ability to safely use basic hand and power tools
- Ability to read a tape measure preferred
- Basic mechanical aptitude
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Dependable attendance and punctuality are required
- Willingness to learn multiple areas of the manufacturing operation
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, push, and pull throughout the shift
- Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work safely around manufacturing equipment, moving material, noise, dust, and typical shop conditions
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment
Work Schedule
Monday–Thursday
6:00 AM–4:30 PM
Four 10-hour shifts with Fridays normally off. Friday overtime may be available or required based on production needs.
