General Laborer

Location: Strongsville, OH 44149
Pay Rate: $16 $17/hr, paid weekly
Schedule: Monday Friday, 7 AM 3:30 PM, with occasional overtime and weekend work.
Contract Duration: 2 months, potential for extension

Overview

Support daily plant and light manufacturing operations by performing general labor, production support, equipment cleaning, material handling, and basic manufacturing duties. This position may also assist production operators with equipment setups, changeovers, adjustments, and other tasks needed to maintain safe and efficient plant operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform general labor duties including cleaning, painting, labeling, moving materials, and hauling pallets.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas and meet all housekeeping requirements.
• Follow all plant safety procedures, training requirements, and personal protective equipment requirements.
• Assist production operators with equipment changeovers, setups, adjustments, and shutdown activities.
• Provide coverage in production roles as trained and assigned.
• Clean and maintain production equipment during downtime in a non-maintenance capacity.
• Complete assigned preventive maintenance and general equipment care tasks.
• Support fabrication and finishing activities, which may include cutting, shaping, sanding, assembling, coating, and finishing wood products.
• Operate or assist with machinery, hand tools, and UV finishing equipment as trained.
• Verify product dimensions and inspect materials and finished products for defects or quality concerns.
• Support production, quality, customer satisfaction, and operational goals.
• Work overtime as needed, including occasional weekend assignments.
• Work primarily inside the manufacturing plant in areas that may experience seasonal temperature changes.
• Stand for periods of approximately two to three hours at a time.
• Climb stairs and regularly lift materials weighing up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a light manufacturing, production, warehouse, or general labor environment is preferred.
• Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and climb stairs.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with production employees, plant staff, and management.
• Ability to follow safety procedures, work instructions, and production requirements.
• Willingness to work overtime and occasional weekends as needed.
