General Laborer

Overview:An employee-owned structural steel fabrication company is seeking dependable General Laborers to support daily production operations within its fabrication facility. This role is ideal for hardworking individuals who are comfortable in a hands-on industrial environment and interested in developing experience within structural steel manufacturing.

The Role:General Laborers will assist welders, fitters, machine operators, and production teams with material handling, cleaning, preparation, finishing, and other shop activities. Success in this position requires reliability, attention to safety, and the ability to work effectively as part of a production team.

Responsibilities:

• Assist production personnel with general shop and fabrication activities.
• Move, stage, organize, and prepare steel materials for production.
• Load and unload materials as required.
• Clean and prepare steel surfaces before or after fabrication.
• Perform grinding, deburring, cleaning, and finishing tasks as assigned.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas.
• Assist welders, fitters, and machine operators when required.
• Safely use basic hand and power tools.
• Follow production instructions and supervisor direction.
• Observe all company safety policies and OSHA requirements.
• Report damaged materials, equipment concerns, or safety hazards.

Requirements:

• Previous labor, construction, warehouse, manufacturing, or production experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to work in a physically demanding industrial environment.
• Ability to lift and move materials safely.
• Comfortable standing, walking, bending, and performing repetitive tasks throughout the shift.
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
• Ability to follow instructions and work effectively within a team.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.

Nice to Have:

• Experience within structural steel, welding, fabrication, manufacturing, or construction.
• Experience using grinders, drills, saws, or other shop tools.
• Forklift or overhead crane experience.
• Basic understanding of shop drawings or measurements.
