General Laborer

D.L. George and Sons Manufacturing, a family owned and operated company, is seeking 1st shift Laborers.

Laborer Qualifications:

• Must have good manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and balance.
• Must be able to read and understand warning signs and labels in a manufacturing setting.
• Able to interpret drawings, written instructions and specifications.
• Capable of working as a member of a team and have basic problem-solving, math skills, and use precision measuring instruments.

Laborer Responsibilities and Duties:

• Follow direction and instructions of supervisor
• Ability to complete required documentation when needed
• Start up, set up, and prepare machines for operation, loading and unloading material
• Perform operator level maintenance as needed, requisition replacement parts as needed
• Deburr, light welding, and metal stamping of pieces as needed
• Sort finished jobs according to destination
• Maintain and communicate finished jobs
• Keep machine areas clean and clear
• Assist other workers when not busy with assigned machine
• Operate hand truck and other material handling equipment when needed
• Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein

Physical Requirements:

• Meet D. L. George & Sons medical, drug and alcohol qualifications
• Ability to operate in a machine shop environment up to 10 hours per day, 40 to 50 hours per week
• Majority of work requires standing or walking, minimal climbing
• Handle material weighing up to 50 pounds with minimal assistance
