Job Description:

Principal Function:

The General Laborer performs a variety of general laboring duties and cleans equipment, floors and offices.

Primary Functions:

Reporting directly to Production Supervisor responsibilities would include, but not be limited to the following:

• Cleaning assigned processing equipment
• Assisting with label changes
• Picking up and/or moving materials and machine parts
• Provide support for break relief
• Sorting cans for visual defects

Duties And Responsibilities:

Under the direction of the Production Planning Manager, the Shipping Department Coordinator will:

• Clean assigned processing equipment of lacquers, greases, inks, or other foreign matters by scraping and/or wiping with solvents
• Collecting scrap cans on a continuous basis and transport to baler area and operate baler
• Start and Stop assigned equipment
• Empty trash cans and transport all refuse to disposal area (no scrap or spoilage)
• Stack empty pallets or skids as directed
• Sweep and/or mop floors
• Maintain records of production and spoilage by area as required
• Keep assigned area in clean and orderly condition
• Responsible for practicing safety and housekeeping in all assigned areas
• Performs other job-related duties as required or assigned.

Requirements:

In addition to the specific responsibilities listed above, the ideal candidate will possess the following:

Minimum Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred (Associates Degree or technical training from a trade school is a plus)
• Must possess a mechanical aptitude and precision ability is highly desirable
• Must be available to work 12 hour shifts, rotating 4 days on/4 days off schedule which may fall on holidays, weekends, or nights as business needs
