We are a provider of hardwood logs, hardwood lumber and proprietary grade hardwood lumber products.General Ledger Accountant Job SummaryWe are seeking a detail-oriented General Ledger (GL) Accountant to join our corporate accounting team. You will manage daily accounting operations, maintain accurate financial records, and drive the month-end closing process. This role is collaborative and requires sharp analytical skills to support our business.General Ledger Accountant Duties and ResponsibilitiesTransactional processing: Review and posting of daily transactional activityMonth-End Close: Execute month-end and year-end closing processes efficiently.Journal Entries: Prepare and post accurate journal entries with proper documentation.Reconciliations: Perform monthly bank, balance sheet, and intercompany account reconciliations.Variance Analysis: Analyze financial statement variances and investigate discrepancies.Audit Support: Prepare schedules and documentation for external financial audits.Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.Experience: 2–5 years of progressive general ledger accounting experience.Software: Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Great Plains) and advanced Excel.Knowledge: Strong understanding of US GAAP principles and internal controls.Attributes: High attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and clear communication.Candidate must be based in the Buffalo, NY market to support business and operational needs.General Ledger Accountant BenefitsHealth, dental, and vision insurance401(k) with company matchPerformance bonusesPaid vacation days and holidays.Minimum – Anticipated Maximum Salary: $65,000 - $75,000The advertised pay range represents what Baillie Lumber Co. believes we would anticipate paying for this position.
