SummaryThe Accountant – General Ledger is responsible for creating and maintaining accurate and compliant financial documents. Under the direction of the Accounting Manager, the role manages the full‑cycle month‑end closing and prepares journal entries for posting to the general ledger. The Accountant – General Ledger ensures completeness and accuracy of GL statements and related accounting activities.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPrepare, make, and/or review journal entries pertaining to gaming and non‑gaming operations in the general ledger system.Prepare, analyze, and distribute scheduled and ad‑hoc financial reports related to gaming and non‑gaming operations.Collaborate with other members of the Finance department and staff from other departments to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of financial data maintenance procedures.Assist with preparation of month‑end financial statements, balance‑sheet account reconciliations, and audit work papers.Attend and participate in meetings to stay informed of new rules, regulations, and procedures and to discuss scheduling and/or other concerns of the Hotel and/or department.Perform any other duties as assigned within the scope of this position.Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesUnderstanding of accounting processes and technical systems involved.Ability to determine alternative solutions to problems, evaluate courses of action, and reach sound, non‑judgmental management decisions.Strong attention to detail and engaging presentation skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Power Point, Publisher, Outlook.Expertise with Excel.Basic reading, writing, math, and complex task completion skills.Clerical, compiling, coordination, analyzing, instructing, following instructions, influencing others, problem solving, independent judgment, and decision making skills.Flexibility to work all shifts including holidays, nights, and weekend hours as business needs dictate.Education and/or ExperienceBachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field required.Minimum 1 year of experience in casino accounting or a combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.Exposure to General Ledger Accounting is preferred.Certificates and LicensesMust maintain an appropriate Gaming License.Physical DemandsRequires constant sitting, occasional standing, walking, reaching overhead, and bending during the shift.Occasional lifting/carrying of 25 lbs or less.Requires repetitive use of both hands and occasional light grasping motions; finger dexterity required.Requires constant use of vision, including distance, depth perception, field of vision, and color vision.Work EnvironmentWork performed indoors, largely alone and frequently with and around others; face‑to‑face verbal contact with others on extended shifts around computer equipment.Noise level usually quiet to moderate.May be exposed to secondhand smoke.#J-18808-Ljbffr
