General Ledger Accountant

Hybrid | starting at $72,900/yr based on experience

Why CWD Group?

CWD Group is a privately-held community association management firm with a tight-knit accounting team and a people-first culture. We offer 100% employer-paid medical, dental, and vision premiums, generous PTO, education reimbursement, and a clear path for growth into a lead/mentor role — all while supporting the communities where our clients live.

The Role

As General Ledger Accountant, you will own the monthly close process and financial reporting for a portfolio of condominium associations. You will work across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Project Management, and Association Managers — serving as the accounting authority and communication bridge between internal teams and association boards.

What You'll Do

  • Drive accurate, timely month-end close: prepare journal entries and reconcile cash, prepaids, accruals, intercompany, fixed assets, and other accounts
  • Reconcile Accounts Receivable and Payable to the general ledger
  • Reconcile all bank accounts and fund balances to appropriate general ledgers
  • Produce consolidated fund Balance Sheets and Revenue & Expense statements
  • Review monthly GL reports and ensure GAAP compliance
  • Translate financial data into clear, accessible summaries for Association Boards and managers
  • Support annual audits and assist with budget preparation
  • Participate in process-improvement initiatives and departmental projects

Compensation & Benefits

  • $35.00/hr+ starting wage ($72,900 annualized) — or commensurate with experience
  • 100% employer-paid medical, dental, and vision insurance (employee premium)
  • Health Reimbursement Account (HRA)
  • 401(k) retirement plan
  • Generous paid time off + paid holidays
  • Education reimbursement / tuition assistance
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
  • Hybrid work model available after successful onboarding and training

Growth Opportunity

High-performers have the opportunity to advance into a lead/mentor capacity, guiding junior GL Accountants and shaping team processes.

What We're Looking For

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting OR equivalent community association accounting experience
  • Solid command of GAAP, with hands-on accrual accounting and fund accounting expertise
  • Experience preparing journal entries and performing account reconciliations
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and data accuracy
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills — able to explain financials to non-accountants

Preferred

  • Background in community/condominium association management accounting
  • Experience with property management accounting software
  • Familiarity with multi-use building reconciliations and budget preparation
