Responsibilities of the General Ledger/Tax Accountant:

• 
  
• Prepare Individual (1040), Trust (1041), Partnership (1065), and Corporate (1120) returns
• 
  
• Support K-1 generation and ensure compliance with applicable tax regulations and reporting requirements
• 
  
• Review 1099s, investment statements, and categorize income appropriately
• 
  
• Analyze financial data for tax implications and assist with planning
• 
  
• Reconcile general ledger tax accounts and support month/quarter-end processes
• 
  
• Create adjusting journals
• 
  
• Maintain organized tax records, schedules, and supporting documentation
• 
  
• Support external audits and respond to notices as needed
• 
  
• Collaborate with accounting leadership to ensure accurate, timely filings
• 
  
• Support ongoing reorganization and post-consolidation modernization
• 
  

Qualifications for the General Ledger/Tax Accountant:

• 
  
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
  
  • 
    
  • CPA or CPA candidate a plus
  • 
    
  
  
• 
  
• 3+ years' accounting experience
  
  
  • 
    
  • Ability to understand tax forms and categorize financial information
  • 
    
  • General ledger experience, estate tax, and/or investment accounting exposure a plus
  • 
    
  
  
• 
  
• Proficiency with CCH Axcess, Great Plains, or similar software preferred
• 
  
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, etc.)
• 
  
• Detail‑oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple deadlines
• 
  
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a small, team‑focused environment and wear multiple hats
• 
  

Schedule: Office located in Baltimore, MD (21209). Company offers hybrid flexibility after training
Salary: $85,000-$95,000
