This role is an incredible opportunity to work on high-stakes cases in a fast-paced, high-energy environment. You will be responsible for handling a wide array of general liability matters, including insurance defense, premises liability, product liability, trucking and transportation, toxic tort, and asbestos. Your work will involve all aspects of case management, from discovery to trial and appeal. You will also have the opportunity to utilize your legal research and writing skills to contribute to our firm's legal strategies.

Responsibilities

As a Permanent General Liability Attorney, your responsibilities will include:

1. Representing clients in all stages of litigation, from filing responsive pleadings to trial and appeal.
2. Preparing and arguing motions, taking and defending depositions, and engaging in discovery.
3. Handling a caseload of general liability matters, including insurance defense, premises liability, product liability, trucking and transportation, toxic tort, and asbestos.
4. Conducting extensive legal research and analysis to develop case strategies.
5. Drafting pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
6. Negotiating settlements, mediating disputes, and representing clients in arbitration proceedings.
7. Collaborating with other attorneys and support staff to ensure effective case management.
8. Maintaining compliance with all state and federal laws, regulations, and standards, as well as ethical rules of professional conduct.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for the Permanent General Liability Attorney position has the following qualifications:

1. A Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school.
2. Admission to the State Bar of Texas.
3. A minimum of 5 years of experience as a trial attorney, preferably in the area of general liability.
4. Proven experience with insurance defense, premises liability, product liability, trucking and transportation, toxic tort, and asbestos.
5. Exceptional legal research and writing skills.
6. Demonstrated experience with deposition, motion practice, discovery, and case management.
7. Strong trial practice experience, including experience with appeals.
8. Knowledge of and experience with arbitration and mediation.
9. Ability to manage a high caseload and work under pressure.
10. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients and colleagues.
11. High ethical standards and professionalism.
