Job Details

Our client is looking for a candidate with a strong background in general liability defense, excellent litigation skills, and a genuine commitment to high-quality client representation. You'll step into a role with real ownership over your cases and direct client interaction from day one.

Key Responsibilities:

Case Management: Handle a diverse caseload of general liability defense matters, including premises liability, personal injury, property damage, and related claims.
Litigation: Represent clients through all phases of litigation — from initial pleadings and discovery through trial and appeal where necessary.
Client Interaction: Serve as a trusted advisor, communicating effectively with clients and keeping them informed on case strategy and progress.
Legal Research & Writing: Conduct thorough legal research and draft motions, pleadings, discovery responses, and other legal documents.
Court Appearances: Attend hearings, depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trials as needed.
Settlement Negotiations: Lead settlement discussions and ADR processes to achieve favorable client outcomes.
Collaboration: Partner with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to ensure smooth case management and outstanding client service.

What Our Client Is Looking For:

JD from an accredited law school.
Active membership in the California State Bar.
Minimum 4 years of experience in general liability defense litigation.
Strong knowledge of California state and federal court procedures.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Proven track record managing a high-volume caseload under deadline pressure.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively.
Detail-oriented with a genuine commitment to quality legal work.

Nice to Have:

Insurance defense experience is highly valued.
Trial experience is a strong plus.
A demonstrated ability to build and maintain lasting client relationships.
