Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for construction and renovation of existing and new SCDC Facilities.
  • Must have an extensive working knowledge of principles and techniques of building codes and be able to read blueprints.
  • Responsible for the supervision of an inmate work crew.
  • Knowledge of metal building erection and forming and pouring concrete.
  • Position may require overtime and participation in on-call rotation.

Must successfully complete four (4) weeks of SCDC Basic Training upon hire.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:

High school diploma and trades experience related to the area of employment.

SCDC Minimum Requirements:

A high school diploma and five (5) years of experience in all phases of construction field with knowledge of South Carolina Procurement Regulations.
