Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dependable General Maintenance Mechanic to join our Facilities team. In this role, you will help maintain a safe, functional, and efficient environment by performing a wide range of maintenance, repair, and preventive maintenance activities throughout the facility. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, enjoys troubleshooting, and takes pride in delivering quality workmanship.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, repair, and maintain a variety of building systems, equipment, and interior finishes.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on facility equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain hand and power tools, including ordering replacement parts when needed.
  • Program and maintain facility clocks as required.
  • Assist specialty mechanics with maintenance and repair projects.
  • Install and repair hospital signage, as applicable to the assigned location.
  • Complete and document work orders using a computerized work order management system (CMMS).
  • Participate in facility renovation, construction, and improvement projects, including coordinating with outside contractors when appropriate.
  • Maintain records and prepare equipment for required inspections and regulatory compliance.
  • Perform general maintenance tasks throughout the facility, including electrical, plumbing, mechanical, painting, and carpentry work.
  • Respond to maintenance requests and complete assigned work in a timely, safe, and professional manner.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

What We''re Looking For

  • Experience performing general building maintenance and equipment repairs.
  • Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, mechanical, carpentry, and painting repairs.
  • Ability to troubleshoot maintenance issues and determine effective solutions.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple work orders.
  • Experience using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with facilities staff, contractors, and other departments.
  • Commitment to providing exceptional service while maintaining a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
