Overview
The General Maintenance / Painter performs duties necessary to maintain in good repair equipment such as bins, cribs, counters, benches, partitions and doors. Work area may include clean rooms, garages, offices, restrooms, mechanical rooms. Position will use a wide array of painting tools, including thin and thick brushes, and rollers.

Responsibilities
• Perform the painting duties necessary to maintain in good repair building woodwork and equipment such as bins, counters, benches, partitions, and doors
• Plan and lay out work from blueprints, drawings, models, or verbal instructions, using a variety of carpenter's hand tools, portable power tools, and standard measuring instruments
• Make standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work
• Select materials necessary for the work
• Paint walls, woodwork, and fixtures
• Identify surface peculiarities and determine the types of paint required for different applications
• Prepare surface for painting by removing old finish or by placing putty or filler in nail holes
• Mix colors, oils, white lead and other paint ingredients to obtain proper color or consistency
• Use spray gun and/or brush to apply paint
Qualifications
Required:
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• No high school diploma, GED or college degree required
• No experience required and on the job training provided
Preferred:
• One (1) year of similar work experience preferred
