Under the direction of the DOE and/or the Chief Engineer, the General Maintenance Tech Lead engages in the work and activities that repair and maintain all of Carillon facilities. Performs preventive maintenance work that could involve the use and operation of complex and highly technical equipment and techniques. Exhibit sound decision making skills and be an example in productivity and professionalism. Does not engage in, nor allow others on the staff to work in a hazardous manner or under hazardous conditions.
Essential Job Functions
Leads crew members in the repairs and maintenance of the Engineering and the conditions, equipment, and devices therein. Sets an example in productivity and professionalism.
Completes Preventive Maintenance work, including the monitoring, control, and performance of scheduled P.M. on all systems. This activity includes work discovered by the General Maintenance Tech Lead.
Trains other maintenance staff members in the proper performance of P.M. tasks.
Serves as a departmental role model or mentor by working alongside employees to perform technical or functional job duties.
Assists management in establishing and communicating goals, performance expectations, timetables and deadlines for shift or departmental operations to nonexempt staff and ensures that they are understood
Assists in planning, execution and the quality of the work assigned to the Facilities Maintenance team.
Assists management the selection, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, and motivating staff members toward the attainment of reasonable work goals.
Maintains open and professional communication between management and staff. Follows procedures in the use and maintenance of all communication equipment and devices.
Ensures all activities, work, actions, and time are documented in writing on a daily basis.
Supports the HotSOS work order system in implementation and adherence, including the prioritization of assigned work. Originates work orders to remedy problems and/or faulty conditions and assures the quality and timeliness of the remedial work.
Coordinates tasks and works with other departments to ensure that the department runs efficiently.
Assists management to ensure that staff members have the necessary resources to effectively perform their duties (e.g., supplies, equipment)
Ensures the maintenance of a working parts inventory of all parts needed for the department.
Maintains knowledge of vendor and pricing policies & procedures.
Maintains and control the Tool Inventory to include proper securing, storage and training in the proper use and function of the tools.
Personally, complies and teaches compliance to co-workers regarding Federal, State, Local, Hotel and Departmental Safety Regulations and Procedures.
Adheres to the Carillon Engineering Lock and Key policies and procedures.
Promotes guest, patron, owner and employee safety and security through strict adherence to Engineering Security and Safety policies and procedures. Eliminates hazards and/or safety violations. Knows and is able to teach the proper shutdown and start-up procedures for all utilities. Thorough knowledge of the fire suppression systems and the fire/emergency alarm systems.
Be knowledgeable of all major and emergency equipment locations and their functions including Life and Property systems (fire detection, fire suppression, emergency generator, departmental fire drill/response procedures, emergency HVAC operation, gas, and water shut-off valves, main electrical disconnects, etc.).
Supports the facility’s Hazard Communication Program. This includes a thorough knowledge of SDS, product labeling, storing and handling of materials etc.
Responsible for PPE (personal protection equipment) use and daily maintenance.
Follows all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries; and complete safety training and certifications.
Sets an example in fulfilling Carillon PJICAAN Service Standards for service to guests, patrons, and owners.
Complies with all Departmental rules, regulations, standards, dress code and appearance.
Reviews all staff and department bulletin boards and strictly adheres to Carillon policies and procedures regarding confidentiality and communication of information.
Performs other job-related duties as directed.
