JOB SUMMARY General Maintenance Technician I is designed to be an entry-level position, with the expectations of shadowing and learning different trades and skill to advance to General Maintenance Technician II. A General Maintenance Technician I will maintain the facility grounds and buildings and assist maintenance mechanics as needed. In an effort to learn the regulatory healthcare landscape, General Maintenance Technician I will be responsible for entry-level PMs at different locations, which would require travel to multiple Good Shepherd locations. General Maintenance Technician I is a network wide position. Work location may vary based on organizational needs. Additionally, other duties may be assigned as needed such as (but not limited to): Deliveries Parts Pick-Up Fleet Inspections ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS MAINTAINS FACILITY GROUNDS AND EXTERIOR By sweeping sidewalks and removing snow, to include areas around generators and equipment tanks. By light grounds maintenance of campus, including picking up paper and debris and emptying trash. MAINTAINING BUILDING INTERIOR By maintaining standards of areas to include boiler rooms, mechanical rooms, electrical rooms and elevator equipment room, to include cleaning, tidying, and decluttering, ensuring a safe environment. By helping maintenance mechanics when needed. By performing preventive maintenance on equipment when assigned by the Maintenance Manager or Designee. RELOCATES OFFICES By moving office equipment and boxes. By assembling equipment and furniture. By collaborating with other supporting departments within the organization to troubleshoot and resolve user issues. MAINTAINS EQUIPMENT By learning to operate, maintain and service power equipment and grounds equipment such as snow blower, facility truck with plow, garden tractor, lawn mowers, edger and weed trimmer per manufactured recommendations. MAINTAINS SAFE WORKING ENVIRONMENT By complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. MAINTAINS CONTINUITY BETWEEN SHIFTS By keeping supervisor informed of concerns and needs. MAINTAINS CMMS SYSTEM By viewing, closing and updating preventative maintenance and work order requests. CONTRIBUTES TO TEAM EFFORT By accomplishing related results as needed. By working together by covering for absent associates and helping in other areas when needed. By filling in for transportation as needed.
