General Maintenance Technician II - 1st Shift

Job Title: General Maintenance Technician II (1st Shift)
Location: East Peoria, IL
Duration: 6 Months Temp to Perm
Pay: $18 $22/hr (W-2)
Shift: 1st Shift, 9:00 AM 5:30 PM (may vary; OT required)

Overview:
Mid-level, multi-craft maintenance role supporting building and production equipment in a manufacturing environment (including clean rooms). Responsible for troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive/emergency maintenance on facility systems. Works with minimal supervision and supports other trades as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot and repair HVAC, pumps, hydraulics, RO/DI water, compressed air, and mechanical systems
• Perform preventive maintenance via CMMS; conduct inspections and repairs
• Analyze equipment failures; maintain and improve equipment performance
• Support installation of new equipment and project/renovation work
• Maintain spare parts inventory and perform job estimates
• Use diagnostic tools, hand tools, and computer systems (MS Office)
• Ensure compliance with safety standards (LOTO, PPE, codes/regulations)
• Communicate with customers and maintain work order records

Minimum Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• 3 years of maintenance experience (Industrial HVAC, Mechanical, or Automotive repair) or equivalent

Additional Requirements:

• Must pass substance abuse test; may require valid driver's license
• No U.S. work sponsorship; must obtain security badge
• Flexible for shifts, weekends, travel, and overtime

Physical Requirements:

• Frequent walking, climbing ladders, bending, kneeling, reaching
• Repetitive wrist movement; ability to distinguish wire colors
• Ability to use computers, attend meetings, and handle light moderate materials

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate degree/trade certification (Mechanical, HVAC, etc.)
• Experience with 480V systems, HVAC/R, plumbing, vacuum and RO/DI systems
• Proficiency with tools, meters, meggers, and CMMS
