General Maintenance Worker

Schedule: 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM
Compensation: $26.68 per hour
Position Overview
Inspection Experts, Inc. (IEI), a premier facilities management firm, is seeking a qualified General Maintenance Worker for an immediate opening. In this role, you will play a critical part in maintaining the safety, functionality, and appearance of our facilities. The ideal candidate is a versatile, customer-focused professional with hands-on experience across multiple building trades and a strong commitment to quality service.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance & Repairs
- Perform general maintenance and repair work across facilities, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and painting.
- Conduct minor electrical maintenance, such as repairing and replacing lamps, ballasts, luminaires, and electrical fixtures.
- Repair and install locks, and cut replacement keys as needed.
- Inspect buildings, garages, warehouses, and commercial spaces to identify safety issues, building maintenance needs, and immediately take corrective actions.
Operations & Logistics
- Respond to and resolve daily service requests in a timely, efficient, and customer-focused manner.
- Operate a company-provided small truck to perform utility duties, including loading, hauling, and unloading materials, supplies, and furniture.
- Relocate office furniture, machinery, equipment, and other heavy materials as requested.
- Ensure adequate materials and supplies are available by ordering and maintaining an accurate inventory of equipment, tools, and parts.
Compliance & Administration
- Ensure all work complies with building, state, and local codes, as well as company, industry, and regulatory safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate manual and computerized logs of work performed and materials used.
- Prepare necessary administrative documentation, including requisitions and accident reports.
- Provide clear, accurate, and professional verbal and written communication to clients and team members to maintain 100% customer satisfaction.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: 3+ years of experience in construction or building facilities, performing work in carpentry, plumbing, roofing, painting, mechanical, HVAC, and electrical trades.
- Clearance & Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship is strictly required. Candidate must be able to pass a security clearance investigation.
- Driving Record: Valid Driver's License issued by the state of residence and maintained in good standing.
- Technical Skills: Basic computer skills required, including data entry and email communication using Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to safely lift up to 55 lbs independently and transport equipment/tools weighing in excess of 300 lbs using appropriate moving equipment.
- Soft Skills: Strong organizational abilities, paired with excellent verbal, written, and digital communication skills.
