General Maintenance Worker

Marana Detention Center | Marana, AZ

$18.57 per hour | Full-time

Responsible for duties involving general maintenance and repairs of

equipment and buildings, assisting with technical trades such as plumbing, electrical, painting and carpentry in compliance with Management & Training Corporation (MTC) and customer directives

What you will do

• Perform maintenance and repair of structures, electrical systems, heating, plumbing, ventilating, air conditioning, and drainage systems. Recommend contracted assistance when on-site repair is not possible.
• Repair or replace faulty or damaged light fixtures, outlets, and fuses as directed.
• Perform minor construction and repair of structural woodwork.
• Install window shades or coverings, security locks, etc.
• Perform repair or replacement of plumbing fixtures, washers, seals, etc.
• Help prepare surfaces for finishing, i.e., painting, as directed.
• Coordinating the work of detainees assigned to facility maintenance if applicable.
• Perform preventive maintenance checks of buildings and equipment.
• Perform routine schedules checks of air conditioning systems.
• Requires long periods of walking and standing.

What you will need

• High school diploma or GED, technical training and general knowledge of repair and maintenance, two (2)

years of maintenance experience required

• US Citizenship or Lawful US Permanent Resident required.
• Must successfully complete required preservice training.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.
